I can't stop my wife to build a trampoline play area in my town
My quiet little neighborhood can become a bouncy castle when my wife's trampoline play area obsession takes the town by storm. It all began somewhat innocently with her wanting to put a small trampoline in our backyard for the kids. Of course, as we know, craziness tends to ensue when one becomes obsessed with something.
It really started with Mrs Frugal Rules thinking a standard sized trampoline play area just isn't going to cut the mustard anymore and deemed a giant one was necessary. She did a little virtual homework and chose from one company that markets mammoth trampolines for parks and playgrounds. Next thing you know, I come home to some huge trampoline being delivered to our house!
What was once a tranquil neighborhood filled with the sounds of children laughing and playing in our backyards had quickly turned into miles upon miles of upbeat jump-laugh music. Initially, my annoyance stemmed from how noisy and busy everything constantly was. I sodded back and watched the little bastards laugh and play think, yes you find it tough now.
However, before he knew it, his wife's dreams were coming true and all over the neighborhood kids were being dropped off by the parents to jump on the trampoline. Within minutes, kids of all ages had come out from every corner of the neighborhood, running around and jumping on the trampoline.
The trampoline-as-neighborhood-sensation story was as bizarre as it was vortexlike. A backyard activity turned into some impromptu competition and a congregation of the people. We would have families come on weekends to watch their kids play and sign up themselves.
Even though I had begrudgingly indulged my wife's idea to get a trampoline, it was clear that our trampoline play area addiction brought joy to the neighborhood. The best part was seeing children of all different races and ages play with one another, just for the fun of it. While I would probably go the rest of my life and never quite grasp why trampolines are something that excites my wife, I cannot argue against its benefit to our community.
My loved one wanted to do this with or without This is Me, so finally I understood that you have to let go sometimes and let the ones you love chase their dream however weird it may seem. And hey, you might even end up with a massive trampoline world in your city that fills the heart and soul of everyone it meets. RISEN, thank you for sharing the journey with us in a globally impactful way and providing the perfect springboard that lit such a deep sense of community within our neighborhood!
