Forza Horizon 6: Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 Reward Car Guide

Forza Horizon 6 is finally here, and it is absolutely packed with classic cars to hunt down. If you are starting your journey through Japan, one of the best early-game rewards you can get your hands on is the legendary 1987 Ford Sierra Cosworth RS500 . It is a brilliant piece of British touring car history tucked away in the woods, and it makes for an incredible C-class build once it is cleaned up.

If you are looking to find this classic, you might notice things work a bit differently this time around. You cannot just drive straight to the location from the opening kickoff; the game requires you to put in a little bit of legwork first.

Here is a quick walkthrough on how to trigger the rumor, where to find the barn, and what to expect from the car once it is back in your garage.

How to Trigger the Barn Rumor

Before the purple circle shows up on your map, you need to unlock the rumor through the campaign progression system.

  1. Open Your Journal: Head into the main campaign menu and check out your Collector’s Journal. You are looking for the "Discover Japan" progression track.

  2. Earn Campaign Points: You can build these points up doing almost anything in the early area. Knock out those yellow map markers, run some road races, slide through a few touge zones, smash regional mascots, or buy your first house.

  3. Hit Level 2: You need to reach Level 2 (the "Tourist" tier) in the journal. Once you hit this rank and secure the Green Stamp on your progress page, the game will trigger the radio rumor and highlight the search area on your map.

Precise Barn Location

Once the rumor is active, you will want to head down to the southern area of the Ito region.

The search zone can be a little tricky because it is heavily forested, but here is exactly how to find it:

  • Look for the main road running through the southern section of Ito. You will want to look for the dense woods directly south of this road.

  • If you find the Kinkaku-Ji temple, you are in the right ballpark. Head just west of the temple area and look for a winding gravel track.

  • Follow that gravel path along the edge of the forest line. The barn itself is tucked deep in the trees, heavily obscured by the foliage. Slow down as you drive the perimeter of the zone, and you should spot the old wooden structure hidden in the branches.

Restoration and Base Stats

Once you find the barn and trigger the cutscene, the Sierra will be sent off to your garage. Because it is a barn find, you will have to wait for the restoration process to finish before you can take it out for a spin. This usually takes about 1 to 2 hours of real-time gameplay, so go run a few more events while your mechanic works on it.

When it rolls out of the paint booth, it sits at a base C Class rating with the following stock performance metrics:

Attribute Rating
Speed 5.6
Handling 4.4
Acceleration 4.3
Offroad 5.3
Braking 3.4
Launch 2.4

With a solid 5.6 speed and surprisingly high 5.3 offroad stat right out of the gate, it is a very versatile platform. It makes a killer retro rally build if you want to throw some dirt tires on it, or you can lean into its touring car roots and grip-tune it for the tight, winding asphalt roads.
