If you are hunting for the ultimate crown jewel in Forza Horizon 6, look no further than the iconic 1991 Mazda #55 Mazda 787B . That legendary, screaming quad-rotor Le Mans winner is officially in the game, but getting your hands on it isn't as simple as saving up some credits.

You won't find this car sitting in the standard Auto Show, and you can't just buy it off the Auction House from another player. It is locked behind the game's ultimate endgame Barn Find.

If you want to park this piece of motorsport history in your garage, here is the exact step-by-step process to unlock, locate, and restore it.

Step 1: Unlock the Master Explorer Stamp

If you try to drive out to the barn location right at the start of your playthrough, you will just find a locked, empty building. The game will not populate the car until you officially trigger the rumor through the Discover Japan campaign journal.

To get the rumor to drop, you need to put in some serious seat time and climb the regional progression ranks. Here is how the loop works:

  • Earn Points: Grind through the yellow main story missions, conquer the technical touge and road races, and clear out side activities across the map.

  • Climb the Tiers: You will need to progress through all seven regional status tiers in order: Visitor, Tourist, Traveller, Pathfinder, Navigator, and Adventurer.

  • Reach the Top: Your ultimate goal is the final rank: Master Explorer. Once you hit this peak, you will secure the Golden Stamp. This automatically triggers the final endgame map rumors, marking the locations for the last two hidden barns in the game—including the 787B.

Step 2: Drive to the Takashiro Forest Barn

Once the map rumor pops and you see that blurry gray circle on your world map, grab an off-road vehicle or a solid rally car. You are heading up north.

  1. Head to Takashiro: Travel to the northern section of the map and look for the Sunny Circuit race track. The barn is located just to the north/north-east of the track grounds.

  2. Spot the Road: Look at your mini-map for a wide, sweeping, U-shaped main road that wraps tightly around a dense, forested area.

  3. Find the Hidden Path: Drive to the far north-eastern edge of this U-shaped road. Slow down and look closely at the tree line for a small, easily missed dirt path cutting into the forest.

  4. Follow the Trail: Turn off the asphalt and follow this dirt track straight into the dense trees. It leads directly to a secluded, overgrown barn structure.

Step 3: Claim and Restore Your Reward

Drive right up to the barn doors to kick off the classic cutscene. You will watch your character pull back the dusty tarp to reveal the battered, weathered Le Mans legend hiding inside.

Once the cutscene wraps up, you have two choices for getting the car race-ready:

  • The Free Route (Patience): The 787B will be towed back to your garage for a full restoration. The mechanics take time to fix up a car this rare. Just go back to playing the game—complete a handful of races, clear some PR stunts, or just cruise around the map. Eventually, you will get a notification that the restoration is complete.

  • The Instant Route (Credits): If you absolutely cannot wait to hear that rotary engine scream, you can open up the "Barn Finds" menu from any festival site or house. You can pay a hefty credit fee to bypass the timer and instantly fix the car.
