How to match PET fiber making machine parameters with different raw material specifications?

Introduction
The matching degree between PET fiber making machine operating parameters and raw material specifications directly determines production stability and finished fiber quality. Many production failures such as incomplete melting, filament breakage and poor fiber uniformity are caused by mismatched parameters and raw materials. Learning to adjust equipment parameters according to different PET raw materials is a necessary skill for front line production technicians.
Virgin PET chips are the most stable raw material for PET fiber making machine, with uniform particle size and low impurity content. When using virgin PET chips for production, set the melting temperature of the equipment within the conventional standard range. The screw rotating speed and material feeding speed can be kept at medium rated values to ensure steady material delivery and full melting. For high viscosity virgin chips, appropriately increase the melting temperature and extend the material heating time to avoid insufficient melting. The spinning speed can be matched according to the target fiber denier. Fine denier fiber needs slightly higher spinning speed, while coarse denier fiber adapts to medium and low spinning speed. Under reasonable parameter setting, virgin chips can produce polyester staple fiber with stable texture and few defective products.
Recycled PET flakes have uneven particle sizes, mixed impurities and unstable viscosity, which put forward higher requirements for parameter setting of PET fiber making machine. First of all, appropriately increase the pre melting temperature and screw speed to accelerate the melting of irregular flakes and prevent pipeline blockage. Reduce the single feeding volume and adopt intermittent feeding mode to avoid excessive material accumulation in the melting chamber. Strengthen the power of the filtering system and appropriately increase the pressure of the melt delivery channel to ensure impurities are fully filtered out. When producing common fiber with recycled materials, lower the spinning speed properly to gain longer forming time. After parameter adjustment, conduct small batch trial production first, and optimize details according to the quality of trial products before formal mass production.
Some factories mix virgin PET chips and recycled PET flakes to control production cost, which requires more flexible parameter adjustment of PET fiber making machine. Calculate the mixing ratio of two raw materials first. If the proportion of virgin chips is higher, refer to the parameter standard of virgin materials and make small upward adjustments on melting temperature. If recycled flakes account for the majority, follow the setting rules of recycled materials and properly optimize the feeding speed. In the production process, strengthen the real time monitoring of melt state and fiber forming quality. Once fluctuation occurs, fine tune the temperature and speed parameters immediately. Regularly screen mixed raw materials to reduce large particle impurities, which can reduce the frequency of parameter adjustment and keep the production line running smoothly for a long time.
