What are the differences between high capacity and small scale PSF line in actual production?

Introduction

PSF line has multiple specifications divided by daily production capacity, mainly including small scale models and high capacity models. Many factory owners cannot distinguish their differences clearly and choose blindly, which leads to mismatches between equipment and actual production demands. Understanding the gap between high capacity and small scale PSF line in practical production is the key to reasonable equipment selection, and also helps enterprises arrange production plans scientifically.

Small scale PSF line usually has a daily output ranging from 60 tons to 100 tons, which is suitable for factories with scattered orders and flexible production demands. This type of line can start and stop quickly, and the production adjustment cycle is short when switching different types of polyester staple fiber. It will not cause large scale material loss during production conversion. High capacity PSF line generally has a daily output above 150 tons, focusing on large batch and single variety continuous production. Its overall production efficiency is much higher than small scale equipment, and the unit time output is huge. However, high capacity PSF line is not suitable for frequent product switching. Each time of model change needs to consume a lot of raw materials and time for equipment debugging. Frequent adjustment will seriously reduce the overall production efficiency of high capacity lines.

Small scale PSF line has a simple structure with fewer supporting auxiliary equipment. The number of on site operators required for daily operation is small, and the technical threshold for equipment management is low. Ordinary production workers can master basic operation and simple maintenance skills after short term training. The failure rate of small scale PSF line is relatively low, and the troubleshooting process is simple once problems occur. High capacity PSF line is composed of multiple interconnected modules, with complete intelligent auxiliary systems and complex mechanical structures. It needs professional technical teams to be responsible for daily operation, parameter monitoring and regular maintenance. The management system of large capacity lines is more standardized, and enterprises need to formulate strict operating specifications to ensure safe and stable production.

In terms of initial investment, small scale PSF line has lower equipment price, fewer requirements on workshop area and supporting facilities, so the total early investment is controllable. Its daily energy consumption is low, and the maintenance cost of accessories is at a moderate level. For enterprises in the initial stage of development, the capital pressure is small. High capacity PSF line has high equipment cost and requires large area workshops, professional power distribution systems and raw material storage areas, so the initial investment is huge. But in the long run, the unit production cost of high capacity PSF line is lower. With large scale production, the average consumption of electricity, labor and raw materials per ton of polyester staple fiber is reduced obviously. It is more cost effective for enterprises with stable long term bulk orders.
